There's a site that I like to browse sometimes which is liberal-minded by its very nature, and a lot of the time I find myself agreeing with what commenters say on it (being liberal-minded myself - and in the US meaning of the word). However, on a search recently I saw something said by a commenter that I just cannot agree with and that I find absolutely disgusting.

People were talking about an article where a woman was kicked out of a restaurant's loos for looking too masculine. Obviously, that she was kicked out wasn't right at all, and everybody in the comments agreed with this. But there was one comment in particular that I was really disgusted at, which read:

Pro Tip: If you grab the person between the legs and get a handful of something, it's a man.

...seriously, what the hell? Advocating physical assault on someone? No. Just, no. That's just not on, and this alone is enough to make me seethe with rage.

The other thing, of course, is that even if someone was disrespectful enough to do this to someone (and it *has* happened to at least one of my friends, I'm sad to say), it wouldn't prove anything! The fact that the commenter even said this was even worse considering that the article mentioned that the woman in question had a lawyer that was a member of the Transgender Legal Defense and Education fund, which suggests that she herself may have been transgendered - though obviously I don't know.

But you'd think that the commenter might have looked a little more deeply before saying something like that. Or, you know, even thought at all, considering the site it was on. Sadly, none of the other commenters pointed out the glaringly massive fail of this comment. The only reason I'm not doing so now is because the post itself was from 2008 and most likely nobody is even looking at it now, or I totally would be. :/
