Subject: Oh, LJ.

This one goes out to all my friends on LJ.

If LJ's latest screw-up with the Facebook/Twitter crossposting options hasn't yet convinced you to jump ship, take a look at Dreamwidth's proposed new Update page. That's a demo, not the real thing (which hasn't been coded yet), but give it a try. Go on.

And then, if you want any Dreamwidth invite codes, I have plenty to give out. Feel free to comment on this post.

Y'know, just sayin'.

Subject: DM invites? YES PLEASE! (anyways you can give me one??)

Hi!
I know I'm probably coming off as rude and/or demanding or whatnot for randomly popping up in your journal and asking for an invite code... I must say, though, that I actually stumbled upon your journal over at LJ while fruitlessly searching for an answer to a LJ-related question I had. I mean, what I else would I be doing at Livejournal these days? Actually writing stuff in my journal? Sadly, no, since it seems I only get more fed-up with each time I login.
Needless to say, it was only after I found my answer in one of your posts that I saw your post on Dreamwidth about invite codes. Just so you know ;) Also, I thank you for such an informative journal!

Is there any way I could get an invite code? If not, any suggestions how I might obtain one? I've seriously had it with LJ and Dreamwidth seems like the most natural, if not the best, alternative to a blog/community site I really used to love.

Thanks!

Sure thing! I'll PM you one. :)

On another note, I'm curious - what question did my journal answer for you? I'm glad I could be helpful!

[edit: PM sent. Oh! And also, for future reference, there's an official community called [site community profile] dw_codesharing where invite codes are shared. :)]

Yah, I'm not a big fan of Dreamwidth's current update page - that proposed one looks much better. I liked the old one better, to be honest. But then, I've never liked 3 column layouts, and I always resize text boxes, anyway.

I haven't really been doing much "social blogging", anyway, but somehow LJ is a habit right now. I'm trying to break that habit - I like DW's options so much more than LiveJournal, but it's hard to learn new tricks. I even disabled emailed comments on LiveJournal (what I mean is I'm no longer emailed notifications), and am considering a paid account for DW... We'll see.

I'm not sure I'll stuck with LJ, but instead of Dreamwidth, I think I'll use this chance to use my OpenID a little more. ^_^
